Government to licence sale of ‘Non-Domestic’ Knives – This is a joke, right? Guys..?

nondomesticknives copy

What exactly makes a ‘non-domestic’ knife more dangerous than a ‘domestic knife’? Surely, there must be some mystical voodoo conjured from the former to warrent the government into stealing our money in order to come up with more useless liberty-stripping bureaucracy.

HUNTING shops and other outlets selling non-domestic knives have been given 12 months to get a licence under a government crackdown on knife crime.
Window displays of knives will be banned, and retailers will have to keep a record of knives sold and of how they checked the age of the purchaser.

The licences will cover specialist shops that sell items such as hunting knives and machetes but will not apply to stores selling ordinary domestic knives.

Licensing boards will also have the power to set extra conditions to reflect local circumstances.

Councils will start receiving applications by 1 September, with a 1 December deadline, justice secretary Kenny MacAskill announced yesterday.

The system dates back to legislation launched by Labour in the last Scottish Parliament but not enacted until 2007, and a consultation exercise was then held. That exercise resulted in some requirements – such as CCTV cameras outside shops selling knives – being left to councils’ discretion instead of being compulsory, prompting Labour accusations that the scheme was being watered down.

Announcing the timetable, Mr MacAskill said hunting and fishing knives were dangerous weapons in the wrong hands.

“That’s why we’re introducing this licensing scheme to make sure those who sell these knives do so responsibly and comply fully with the law,” he said.

Really, this type of encroaching statism isn’t even remotely suprising anymore. Hell, just get it over with and licence the use of knives. Ban them all together and have legislation drafted up requiring all food be pre cut into bite sized chunks… The quicker you implement your totalitarian dream, the quicker people will realize how essential their cherished liberties were, and take quick steps to reclaim them.

Looking at the mentality displayed in the comments section, I hope you’ll agree that it’s a sad day for humanity when this type of cringtastic tripe is spewed from the mouth of a sovereign man…

They should ban the sale of pointed knives to the general public. The only people who need specialist knives with a pointed end are butchers. Round nosed knives do everything that you legitimately need a knife to do.

*Cringes*

On another note, I recall that not too long ago I was asked to produce proof of age when purchasing a file… Yes, the most henious of all objects, those pesky files, a scorn on our once tranquil society, sent by Satan himself to corrupt the mind’s of our precious young offspring…

Still, at the very least, we can be sure teaspoons have escaped the clutches of these Safety Nazi piles of…. Wait, no, teaspoons are evil as well apparently. Hell, why does the government even bother when private businesses are flying the flag of Safety Nazism on their own accord…

Police confiscate replica guns from collector

Here’s the situation. Neighbours of a 54 year old man decide to tattletale to the police after seeing what appeared to be firearms on display in his home. Armed police proceed to raid his property and after recovering the supposed ‘firearms’ they turn out to be perfectly legal replica guns, of which the man collects. Instead of returning his posessions and apologizing for the incident, the filthy jackbooted scum decide they want to keep his collection and destroy it, “just in case they get into the wrong hands”.

Armed police swooped on the flat of a 54-year-old replica pistol collector in Battersea.

They seized 17 replica guns but police admit the man posed no threat to the community.

Wandsworth crime squad Inspector Matt Phelps said police had raided the flat about 10.20am on October 10 after a tip-off from the public.

“This action was taken to pro-actively reduce the threat of firearm incidents in the borough and to prevent any possible tragic consequences should they have made their way into the wrong hands,” Insp Phelps said after the weapons had been handed over.

These exact ‘weapons’ can be brought over the counter or online. I don’t think 17 in the hands of a responsible collector heightens the danger of them “getting into the wrong hands”. Quite the opposite.

“I would like to thank the local residents who had the foresight to bring this collection to our attention, and the owner for his full co-operation.”

You’re a pathetic enemy of freedom.

Police said local residents had raised concerns that the man had a large number of replica firearms and ammunition on display in his home.

It turned out the 54-year-old had been collecting the gun memorabilia over 20 years and had built up an extensive collection.

Specialist CO19 firearms officers found 17 of the guns were exact replicas and could be converted to fire.

The Met said in a statement that “although there was no concern that the owner of the collection posed a threat himself, the firearms that had been identified by officers as susceptible to conversion were retained as a precautionary measure” and will be destroyed.

A pipe and a hammer is “susceptible to conversion”. Displayed above is a child’s toy converted to fire a .22 rimfire cartridge. If there’s something to hold a bullet and a means of hitting a primer, you have a firearm.

Now, kindly pay this man back out of your own wages you useless despicable thugs.
